Location: Main Area
Plot: Zeus joining Palartok Pack
Participants: Zeus, anyone in Palartok Pack.

Zeus padded to the small stream that trickled over the rocks. Lowing his massive head to the water, lapping up some with his dry tongue. It was a windy day. The trees fought the gusts with the bristle that held to the branches, some flying off into the air. The land around Zeus was beautiful, but he wasn't here as a tourist. He was here to, hopefully, join the Palartok Pack. The speed of the icy cold wind blew faster, but Zeus's thick pelt kept him heated. His stomach roared like a beast, wanting to be fed. Zeus could not hunt now, he was in Palartok Territory. Hunting here was trespassing. He sat on the rocky beach, and waited. How was he to signal the pack to let them know he was here? A howl maybe? Yes a howl, that was perfect.

Zeus rose to his paws. He took in a deep breathe, before lifting his head to sky. A long, strong, deep howl flew out his muzzle. Once out of breathe, the howl slowed to a silence. Zeus panted as the howl echoed through the trees. "They had to heard that." he thought. He then returned to the sitting position, and continued to wait.

__________NOTES he doesn't want to be seen, cautious Freemon heh
__________WORDS 439

Uncomfortable wasn't even close to describing how the tall black male felt. Trekking through the snow was proving more difficult than he'd originally thought, and his silky coat was far from suited to such weather. There were no solutions to the problem however, so Freemon would simply have to adjust to the bitterness and not complain. Not that he had anyone to express his dissatisfaction to, that was.

Warm brown eyes scanned the area - he could hear the sound of rushing water and the smell of freshness it offered him. Wherever Freemon was now, he figured that these were something along the lines of pack headquarters. Quite a nice place too, it was fairly secluded and prey wasn't scarce...well probably not in the other seasons, winter was arguable. Nonetheless, he knew if an encounter with the alpha of these lands was to occur, he'd submit without any hesitation. Freemon didn't care much about being boss, the only thing he didn't like was being made a fool of. Besides, after all these months of mourning perhaps it was time for him to move on with his life, or at least try to. Brooke would have wanted that. The thought made him frown, the pit which was his stomach feeling almost tangled and in pain. "Oh Brooke," Freemon murmured to himself, with his large and alert ears pinned back slightly.

The trees proved easy enough to weave through, the male's tall frame and fast reflexes showed themselves useful. He may as well check out this stream while he was here, see where it led to and all that. The light which seeped through the trees before him indicated he must be nearing an opening, great! A lowered head sniffed for any tracks of other wolves, but he caught onto none. If there was anyone close by, their scent had probably already gotten carried away by the wind.

A deep howl sounded not far off, to which Freemon slowly raised his head to. Did they know he was here? Maybe the wolves of this land were telling him to back off? Not possible - the howl didn't seem like it had any certain meaning really. It was possible that there was another loner who was trying to make himself heard, which in that case, Freemon was going to keep well away and observe him. His thin stature carried him silently towards the sound, but from what he could tell it came from across the stream. The darkness of forest masked him as he tentatively walked towards the edge of the tree line, his body lowered as not to make a sound.
